Standard Life Organization emerged as one of the best Microfinance Institution in Nigeria to implement the Rural Business Plan (RBP). The Executive Director, Mr. Oyegue Osazee received the award on behalf of the Organization at Rockview Hotel Royale, Zuma Hall 194/196 Adetukunbo Ademola Cresent Wuse 2, FCT Abuja, Nigeria on Thursday March 16, 2017.
The National Award ceremony was organized by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in collaboration with IFAD-Rural Finance Institution Building Programme (RUFIN). The well deserved recognition was an indication that Standard Life Organization is fulfilling her vision of being “the best NGO-Microfinance Institution that assists poor rural women, promote their businesses in order to overcome poverty in our society”
It is a well known fact that in Nigeria, poverty is especially extreme in rural areas, where up to 80 percent of the population live below the poverty line, and social services/infrastructure are limited; despite Nigeria's plentiful agricultural resources and oil wealth.
In view of this, Standard Life Organization key into the IFAD (RUFIN) Rural Business Plan initiatives to alleviate the suffering in the rural areas through micro financing, and we promise to do more, said the Executive Director after receiving the Award.
